SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Spring Break Everyone!

I will begin posting “grades” in Tigerview during the break.  Hopefully this helps everyone keep track of what’s missing.  I’ll also be sending out another mass email today to students who have not been turning in much, if any, work.

When we return, instruction will be changing a bit, but I’ll give you more details on that as it gets closer.  My plan is to start posting some videos of my own (I apologize in advance) .  Hopefully, I'll get to do some video conferencing, while still assigning articles, written responses, and other supplementary assignments.  The good news for the students is that my written workload will probably decrease!  However, students still need to keep providing detailed, thorough responses to all questions.  We can keep improving and learning, even during these odd times.

I am not assigning any work over the break.  However, to help pass the time and further prepare you for our next distance learning units, here are videos we may have watched, had we been in the classroom.  Others listed below will help give you some context into topics we'll be discussing next.  As usual, and for reasons I don't understand, you may need to copy and paste the URLs into the address bar for them to work.  Some contain strong images or language.

CNN: The Sixties

Any of these episodes are good summaries of their particular topics.  Most of these can be found through google video search, either on youtube or dailymotion.  Some of the ones I’d normally show some, or all of in class are:

The World on the Brink

The Assassination of President Kennedy

The War in Vietnam

The Space Race

1968

The Vietnam War: A Film by Ken Burns

Every installment of this is well-done and educational, but also both intense and dry, and grueling.  It is difficult to watch even for me, and I teach History!  It is currently available on Netflix.

Stay Safe!  Keep Learning!
